What is more fun now that your sober?

Thought a thread like this might be good for us in early sobriety! Last night danced my ass off and didn't think I could EVER do that sober! Better yet went on a family bike ride this morning since I have no hang over!

What do you find fulfilling and fun while sober?

Everything is better, from enjoying music to hiking to exercise, food, sex, time with the kids, watching movies, reading. Even just sitting in the woods is a more spiritual experience.

My addictions dulled and distorted everything, especially at the end.

I think conversations are a lot better sober. You can actually genuinely listen and be there which is lost when drinking.

Mornings and weekend days are definitely better in general. When you have a hangover every day, it's such a shock to feel what it's like without one! I wonder why I would ever choose a hangover-filled life.

Double barrel me too, I notice how the trees sparkle and how the clouds look. If I noticed these thing while drinking, I likely didn't remember them!
Conversation is more memorable and really for me too!

Watching sport Sober is more enjoyable, remembering the key highlights, plus no hangover in the morning is fantastic!!

I get such a thrill when I realize I am finding delight in simple things... when I am awed by something beautiful in nature or a warm wind on my face...when I share a genuine belly laugh with a friend...when I recognize I am allowing new things to enter my world....or as I enjoy getting closer to another human being naturally..without the forced, false and expedited trickery of alcoholic illusion.

...When I realize I am experiencing life authentically. I'm really, really doing it.

I'm also enjoying the little things! Beautiful sunsets, the rain, food, not feeling guilty, relationships, rain, music, books, my daughters giggle... Life is good. 2 weeks in today

I can do all things through he who strengthens me

I take great joy in taking good care of my dogs and cats sober. When I was drinking they didn't get the best care and I was ashamed of myself. Skipped walks, late dinners, and not giving them enough attention. Now that I'm sober they get the best care and their love is my reward.

Literally everything I think.

Life is not always sunshine and lollipops but even the bad days seem better to me now

Eating out is less than half what it used to cost and I can now go to places that don't serve alcohol.

It's early days for me, not so much 'fun' but I now find the hangover free train journey into work relaxing, reading a newspaper and the bonus of having people not move away from me due to booze fumes.

The fun will come for me I am sure, for now I will take every positive I can see

London, yes, your days will become happier. The early days are hard, I know. One day, out of the blue, you will realize that you just had an enjoyable experience. And then they will keep coming. So glad you are here and sober. Life will get better and better

Well, I used to have a splitting headache every day, so everything, going to the mall, driving around, gym, EVERYTHING was accompanied by a headache.

EVERYTHING is more enjoyable now without a splitting headache.

I would say .. hmm .. Looking in the mirror. Self-assessment.
