I am riding the pink cloud and trying to stay positive. Sober from alcohol and cigarettes and loving it, I like breathing and tasting food again too.

I took a one day job moving hospital beds. It was awesome, I got to assemble them learn about the operation of them and even some basic programming of them. What can I say, I am addicted to working. I pride myself in a job well done. The job didn't pay well, but money is money and this was about making something rather then sitting on my butt and filling sorry for myself.

Hope everyone weekend is sober and safe, I wish you all well and wanted to thank you again for all the advice I love you folks.

Funny side note, part of the reason I took this job, was because if I went into a full blown panic attack, I was already at the hospital, that made the day easier.

Love your positivism. A bit of cash and learning something new that will help sick people, can't go wrong!

Low to mid anxiety, but never crippling anxiety, just like drinking, I told myself just one day, I just have to make it one day and that is today. I am free to leave at anytime, and I am not beholden to these folks. That made it a lot easier, plus I was so busy it kept the mind from going into full blown anxiety mode.

You are doing great! Quitting cigarettes and alcohol at the same time is very difficult - keep up the good work!

I was going to add, you all talked me out of a bad idea earlier this week. Dee you mentioned something about me already having my mind made up, and I realized something I did and I did out of desperation.

That is absolutely the crux of addiction you make seemingly rational decisions in your mind that aren't rational, I forgot to mention this is my post. I am glad I can lean on everyone in this community to help a newly sober guy not do stupid stuff.

Delivery,

Great to hear! I was off for the summer and I also thrive on working. That's not to say I don't enjoy my time off but I feel weird with too much time on my hands. I can relate about tasting food again. I also feel like my senses are heightened which is a good thing.
