Sweet tooth
Sweet tooth
I was never really interested in sweet stuff. Cakes, biscuits, chocolate etc. I can easily take it or leave it. I'd rather have 2 starters than have a dessert.
However this week I've found myself really wanting sweet stuff. Tonight I've had 5 Curly Wurlys (not sure if they have these outside the UK - toffee and chocolate stick type things), plus half a pack of chocolate eclairs.
Plus toast, i really crave toast late at night, which i wouldn't normally do.
I guess this is the body adjusting to the lack of sugar in alcohol.
Hope i don't get fat.

It's probably good to listen to your bodies at this point. It's pretty typical to seek out sugar in early recovery. If you add an exercise plan to your life, then things should work out.
Not a sweet eater here either. Since sober I've been eating carbohydrates and feel awful like hung over with headaches, foggy. I just went through a gallon of ice cream in one week like I was addicted so now that's out. I'm going cold turkey with only healthy foods but not leaving out some fruit. There was a time years ago when I didn't drink and ate no sweets and I felt like a million bucks. I want to get there again, I can!

Same here. Never really much of a sweet tooth, but now... Nutella, chocolate cake, chestnut cake, creme brulée, chocolate mousse, ice cream... and that was just the last 24h, haha.
I quit smoking as well as drinking, so I think in some way it's my new marker to finish off a meal, as well as my reward for not giving in to my other cravings.
And I am absolutely embracing it!
(definitely need to get that workout plan started, I think)

I guess 5 pints or beer can be between 1000 & 1500 calories. with that gone the body is running on empty to what it's used to.
I feel guilty, but 6 (oK I just had the last one) curly Wurlys are = to about 2.5 pints of beer in calories. so i won't get fat i guess.

5 curly wurlies is good!
5 mars bars would be worse!
Curly wurlies have big holes in them so less calories.
I found myself the same.
I used to drink lots of hot chocolate with sugar but used skimmed milk as that helped with the cravings and the milk made me sleepy.
Sometimes mid to late afternoon I used to and still do, get thoughts of having a drink and I found if I stopped off for a milkshake or a hot chocolate by the time I got home, any cravings had gone.
Wishing you the best xx
