Hey, everyone! Just got "The Easy Way to Stop Drinking," and I'm about two-thirds of the way in. I'm really keeping an open mind, and I'm taking to heart a LOT of what he writes.
Any feedback from those who have read it?

Great book, but sadly I have learned that books alone is just not enough. I have read and researched alcohol to the point I could be an expert lol plus drunk loads also.... I needed action aswell!!
Another few great books are:
Sober for good
The heart of addiction
Kick the drink
Under the influence
Hood your well.

I am gathering lots of tools - reading tons of books, gong online here, talking with my spouse, meditating, thinking through the drink, etc. It's been two weeks today, and some days are harder than others. Yesterday was a breeze - today I'm struggling a little bit, but I'll be okay. It's great to wake up without a hangover!
It is a really good book & does work but... as Lionheart said you do need to rely on other support, be it coming on here, change of habits, exercise, AA. you don't want to become complacent.. Well done though for taking that step.
Jason Vale's Kick the Drink Easily (very similar to Carr's book, which I also read) is the one that really changed my perspective on alcohol. This wasn't enough to keep me sober. I needed the support system and feedback I got from SR and I needed to change my overall lifestyle, but that book was a major factor in my sobriety.
I read it after I quit, but I found it very useful - especially the part about thinking about what I thought this glass of alcohol would do for me, whether that was a realistic outcome, and thinking about other non-alcoholic ways I might approach the situation./problem/issue I was drinking for.
