Need support
Hi. This is my first post. I am just beginning this journey and I am very scared. I want, so badly, to be successful and regain my spiritual, emotional and physical health. I don't know how this all works yet so I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone has about how to make the best use of this site. Thanks so much.
Glad you're here!
Look under FAQ's for the how to guide of SR. It very intuitive.
There is good news - if you don't want to drink or pickup again, you don't have too!! This is a we program...We are recovering.... But, it's your individual recovery that matters. Make a strong plan that works for you surrounded by I won't drink - TODAY!
Here's a great thread you can make the commitment daily and see other do likewise.

Hi and welcome.
If it’s the reason you came he is the reason you need help read, read and read the many posts on this site for ideas and motivation.
The bottom line is we need to get honest with ourselves about our drinking and accept that we cannot drink the first drink in safety. Then comes practice and the work involved to be sober one day at a time.
Simple, didn’t say easy. It helps by not thinking about drinking, think of other things and also hydrate ourselves along with the intake of sugary eats. Just little tricks that work for many.
BE WELL

Welcome Jeremiah. When it come to sobriety, this web forum is the best thing that happened to me. Like others have said just start by reading and learning from others. Post if you in need of help because help will come pouring in.
Make sure you check out people's personal stories in their respective forum, at some point. It is inspirational to read about people who were in the same position or worse off but were able to see it through and change their lives.
Jeremiah! Welcome to the forum.
I came here scared almost 5months ago and Wow! I'm so happy that I found this forum. Log in daily and stay logged in as frequently as you can. During times that I would have had my first drink, I kept my laptop close and read a lot. Then stayed logged in and reading until I went to sleep at night. This works for me In my experience, there is unparalleled collective experience and wisdom here. Welcome to the start of one of the worthiest undertakings of your life.
