it's amazing how much time alcohol wastes.

I've had so much extra time I almost don't know what to do with it.
I re-arranged my bedroom today, then shopping for a new vacuum cleaner, cleaned the whole house. lunch with a friend, going to the cinema tonight which I rarely do.
what will i do tomorrow? nothing left to do? perhaps the gym.
i would have normally lost hours & hours drinking & doing nothing other than that during a weekend.
This is a big positive

i would have normally gone to the pub Friday straight after work, then got some beers for home after (alone). A late night.
then a slow start to the day & the left over beers in the fridge would be calling my name by 1pm & then I'd start early for the same that night.
and achieve basically nothing except spend money & feel & look like **** for Monday at work.
This has to be much better

So true...thanks for the reminder! Off to walmart to spend an hour or two out of the house...then off to a restaurant with my gf. Seems small yet...when drinking recovering...i couldn't even get out of bed.
Never again.
Never again.

I may have earned a reputation for being a stickler with language and the words we use here...I don't know. I've long been that way. I would have phrased it, "It's amazing how much time I wasted with alcohol."
I was going to start a thread like this too called 'time warp' when I start drinking the night passes so quickly it's scary. I can totally relate. I love having the extra hours in the day now. Best get signed up to Netfix!

Sure is! Was thinking about how many days in a year were spent reasonably sober/alive when I was drinking. The day I would drink was wasted, the next day (if I didn't go ahead and drink again) was worthless with a hangover, then the next day would just start feeling back to normal? and think "cool - might as well grab some more drinks!" So I figure about a 1/2 day of being alive per 3 actual days. Roughly 52 days a year I was in decent shape I suppose. The rest just gone really. So, so, so much better now! I never want to find myself in that place again.
