Day 4 of sobriety. Already feeling so much better, clearer, calmer. Been a beer lover for a long time. Time to love myself a little and drop the "boat anchor" that is alcohol. I wonder if it is because I am 50, getting older, tired of drama, headaches, being tired etc...sure hope to stay sober. Not because I want to be a bore, because I am plenty wild and crazy to begin with, but because life is sooooo different through intoxicated eyes. Glad I found this site!

I was older too when I decided I'd had enough. I wasn't happy or carefree anymore when I drank - it was no longer fun in the end. You don't sound like a bore!

Hi Intro, I'm older too. I don't think we're a bore at all. Sometimes the body tells us all these years of drinking have ran it's tole. We feel like remembering some of our experiences, not going through them all in a hangover daze.

Hi and welcome to a second chance at life and the many things we usually aspire for but alcohol has put on the back shelf.
Besides feeling better most of the time it’s great to be more clear headed and hangover free each day.
Getting sober is a continued work in progress that has marvelous benefits if we continue to follow a program as a daily recovery project. This way relapses are dramatically lessened.
