Please see a doctor that can help taper and /or detox you safely. Quitting any substance, especially those on which you become physiologically dependent, is very dangerous.

While it's admirable that you want to quit ASAP, it is much more important to do it safely than just do it "now".

When we put toxic substances in our
bodies it causes a chemical imbalance
in our systems affecting nerves, blood
flow, muscles, our brain, heart, all areas
of our body.

I was addicted to alcohol which in itself
was like playing with fire. Drugs, prescription
meds, anything narcotic or habit forming is
also dangerous.

Seeing a physician we trust where we can
talk to him or her honestly about our addictions,
whether it be drugs or alcohol, they can treat
us properly so we can begin to heal and get
healthy again.

We put our bodies thru so much and all
it's saying or even screaming for us to do
is get that poison out of your body and let
me live healthy. PLEASE.

Then seeking help to live each day with
out drinking or using thru a recovery program
would be another useful, important step
in learning to live as happy, as healthy
and as honest for yrs to come.

HI Brian,
Withdrawal from opiates is no picnic, so I agree with the others and recommend you see a Dr. before going cold turkey. Your Dr. can prescribe something to help out with the withdrawal symptoms. Then once you have a clear head you should start thinking about a recovery program, so you won't be in this situation again. Best of luck with your fight against the "beast". Take Care.

If you don't mind saying, what amount of pain meds like Vicodin are you taking daily and how long has this been a problem for you?
Also, are you combining them with other drugs (legal or otherwise) and alcohol regularly?
How is your overall health?
Answers to questions like these can make a difference regarding advice about the most effective way to discontinue using.
Possibly the discussion should continue in a different thread.
