Perspective comes from the strangest things sometimes ...
This is going to be weird, so I apologize in advance .
I think I have picked up a bug in the last couple of days ... I say I think because I feel somewhat icky but not devastatingly ill. When I was drinking, the most minor of ailments would knock me on my a$$. A cold would have me feeling like I wanted to die and the flu would have me bed-ridden ... still drinking of course, but again feeling like I wanted to die. Right now I feel a tad bit stuffy and tired, but I can still function and be productive. Is this what it feels like to have a cold when I am sober? I think so. My point is (yes there is a point to this silly thread) is that even the crappy things are better sober. Even getting sick gives me perspective on how life is better sober. There is a message in everything, even something as simple as having a cold ... if I get out of my self-pity and open myself to that message.
