help

So I spent 31 days without drinking during May, the first time in 20 years. But somehow I lost my resolve. I am not beating myself up because of going back, because those 31 days were priceless. I learned a lot. I havenīt been drinking like before given the lessons learned, but I am starting to feel bad again. I know its because of drinking. Sobriety is the only way to figure this out, so I really need to find my center again and not drink, so I can clear my head.

Thanks for listening.

PS, you guys are great. Thanks to you I could manage those 31 days sober.

The only way you fail is if you stop trying.

That first drink is the one to avoid.

Even this morning I said to myself, "Today I won't have a drink."

31 days is amazing jump bk on the horse if you want to be well

Carry on drinking if you want to be unwell

My hand will always be waiting for you to reach out to save yourself if you want help

31 days proved you could do it and I'm so glad you got them 31 days in to feel the difference

What differences did you feel in 31 days that you didn't feel in 20 years of drinking

I wish you a speedy recovery

Differences during 31 days? Sleeping well, no guilt, clear head, better nutrition, better exercise performance, more active and willing to do other stuff, better sex life, and the list just goes on and on. On the negative, its difficult dealing with anger, and feeling so mellow.

The sooner you get back to sobriety the better. A slip can easily become months of agony.

Rooting for you!!

Hi Dee, thanks. Good to hear from you again. Good question. What do I need? If I think hard, I guess what I really need is to drown that voice in me that wants to keep drinking. Its the truth. I logically know its harmful, but emotionally its a bond. I have to give it more thought.

Soberwolf, feeling mellow is great, but I get to a point were I miss feeling energetic and talkative, and booze gave me that.
