Day 5. Fog lifting... :)
Day 5. Fog lifting... :)
Today makes 5 days. Still fighting through a fog of depression...but it's not the soul crushing stay in bed and weep depression from day 1 and 2.
Actually got out met my GF and went to a friends birthday yesterday. Good food at a restaurant...Meat lovers pizza...YES my appetite is back.
Afterwards we went out to the movies...saw Guardians of the Galaxy.
Sitting there at the movie...a old familiar emotion came back for a little while. Happiness?...fun?...This movie and night was FUN!
I'm back feeling a bit down today...but still I actually laughed a few times during the movie. I'd highly recommend it!
Stay moving forward everyone. I have a long way to go to get back to where I was...But 5 days sober is a BEGINNING.
Stay safe and sober friends. And Go to the movies!

I'm at day seven. When I went to the doctor on the day I quit I was shocked to get weighed and find out that I weighed 142 lbs (I'm 5' 11). Over the weekend I've probably ate more in two days than I ate in a week when I was drinking and it feels pretty good. I'm still not sleeping worth a damn and it may even be getting a little worse, but I'm confident that I've turned a page and have realized this is the last time I'm going through this. I can't say "I can drink on this holiday and pick up sobriety again tomorrow", or any of that.
