Not sure

So I have only been sober for a short time. My problem has always been alcohol never any other drugs. My question is I recently had wisdom tooth surgery and they gave me hydro-codone. I don't really like taking pills and have only taken a few when the pain was really bad. Does this constitute a break in my sobriety?

I'm no expert...but seems like you need them and you're being responsible with them, no?? Not a break in your sobriety in my opinion.

Prescription drugs taken as DIRECTED are not a relapse but if I were you I would get rid of them as soon as you can

Prescribed drugs are fine if taken as prescribed in my personal opinion, but I do try to avoid taking painkillers unless it's absolutely the last resort.

Nope- as others have said, as long as you use them as directed, and only for pain (not fun/pleasure) I think you are fine.

It is much better than using alcohol to manage the pain, which I have done several times with bad results. Hope you feel better soon.
