Meeting a new person this evening for dinner and the anxiety of not being able to order a drink is killing me. Any advice?

Being anxious about not drinking isn't social anxiety. I think that's called alcoholism.

maybe a couple days into sobriety isn't the best time to start a new relationship?

I meant more anxious about being social without alcohol. Only a friendship.....but divine intervention stepped in. Amazing how that happens!

Have a plan for what you will order to drink and do not waver. Come clean that you are "not drinking tonight" (or whatever you want to say) as soon as is natural so you won't prove yourself a liar. Relax, smile, and have fun. Millions of people have done this sober. You can do it too!
