OT/ Nebraska
Last night I "stumbled" across the movie "Nebraska".
WOW....great movie! I didn't know that alcoholism was woven into the story.
The father had been a life-long alcoholic, himself......but, the wife was sooo co-dependent, and, OMG! was that woman so irritating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It also showed the generational effects, also.
So well done...although alcoholism was not the focus of the story, at all...
I felt that it was so illuminating without being heavy handed.
Has anyone else seen it?

Yes, that is a wonderful movie. I think it really pointed out how love is so complicated.. interestingly, my sons ADORED this movie, and I think they probably really identified with the son, and really saw AH in Bruce Dern. (Hmm, I wonder if they saw me in the June Squibb character? I just thought about that. Food for thought.)
I agree with your review, dandelion.

RAH and I watched half of this tonight and really didn't think much of it. Don't know that we'll finish it...
I hope others enjoy it, but it wasn't something we cared for.
Thanks for the recommendation anyway, dandylion!
