OT/ Nebraska

Last night I "stumbled" across the movie "Nebraska".

WOW....great movie! I didn't know that alcoholism was woven into the story.
The father had been a life-long alcoholic, himself......but, the wife was sooo co-dependent, and, OMG! was that woman so irritating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It also showed the generational effects, also.

So well done...although alcoholism was not the focus of the story, at all...
I felt that it was so illuminating without being heavy handed.

Has anyone else seen it?

I have not but it is on my list of movies I should see. I'm moving it up on the list now though!

Thanks!

Thumper....I think you will be in for a surprisingly good movie....it has so many layers to it...
(it has a surprise ending). I would love to have your review after you have seen it!! Especially what you think about the mother....LOL!

dandylion, it's in our queue at Netflix also. Will have to move it up so we can watch it sooner. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yes, that is a wonderful movie. I think it really pointed out how love is so complicated.. interestingly, my sons ADORED this movie, and I think they probably really identified with the son, and really saw AH in Bruce Dern. (Hmm, I wonder if they saw me in the June Squibb character? I just thought about that. Food for thought.)

I agree with your review, dandelion.

RAH and I watched half of this tonight and really didn't think much of it. Don't know that we'll finish it...

I hope others enjoy it, but it wasn't something we cared for.

Thanks for the recommendation anyway, dandylion!
