I think you just need to get through them Chilled.
Do see your Dr tho if you're concerned.

when you feel up to it, I'd like to know what happened?

Hey Chilled... just make sure you get plenty of fluids in you... Warm water with fresh lemon is great & stock up on those B Vits!!! Where abouts in the UK are you?? There is a couple of places where I live SADAS Surrey Drug and alcohol addictions counselling service & Acorns which are charity groups for Substance abuse.. Just wondering apart from Mind is there any other group like that near you?

I always tried to stay in bed as much as possible on my first days; I was very sick.

You say you are thinking of AA, you could call the helpline now.

The number I have for South Wales is 01792 301 907,it is manned 24/7.

I rang on my first day,I was in a desperate state, but managed to make the call.

Take good care of yourself today, get medical advice if necessary, there is a real danger of fitting during withdrawal.

Hey chilled,

I like the suggestion of staying in bed. I had to treat myself as if I have the flu because I was very sick. Another way to look at it would be to stay busy but for me I had to be on the couch, with my laptop, under a blanket, with lots and lots of food.

Im loading up on valerian to ease the shakes, I have my friend over with me just to keep an eye on me.

I just MUST resist whiskey today, it wont ever end otherwise! Just gotta go through it!
