Aargh- where has team August gone?
Augustians,
I cant find you!
Hope you are all well, I am good on day 14 and doing well. I just need to log on here to remind myself that I'm an alcoholic and not to get any daft ideas about trying for the umpteenth time to become a normal/moderate drinker. I love that comparison in the little AA book I got in a meeting about that thought pattern being like saying 'I'm going to try puuting my hand on the stove again and this time I won't get burnt!
Although im only day 14, I have only two small setbacks this month. Its beginning to hit me how many important life decisions ive made over the last 20 years drunk. For the first time im getting a sober picture of my mistakes and missed opportunities. I can never get that time back or the life I might have had. I guess I can only hope to improve on my next 20.
I'm not going to drink today.
