Jesus talked to me in a dream

I have been sober for about a week, give or take.

Last night, I had a dream that I was sat in a real fancy restaurant, eating a nice steak dinner and I had a bottle of red wine. (Nothing unusual)

A black man asked me by name if he could sit down and talk to me, I was like wtf I am eating me dinner. He gave me a roll of £50 notes.

I said, why the hell not, sit down, can I get you something, he sat down and said to me this.

"Trust me, I will do what I can for you. You dont have to control everything in your life. Keep it simple, keep life simple.

You see that bottle of wine, if you drink it, you have to drive home, over the limit, you could get caught and have to go to court. You have to explain to your Wife, why you have you cant drive anymore. It gets complicated doesnt it I---A.

What if you eat your steak dinner and had a glass of ice cold water with a lemon in it, then you can go home and have a nice restful sleep.

I---A, keep life simple, its what everyone else does.

I asked him, who was he, he said Jesus, you looked like you needed a visit.

Then I woke up. It came just at the right time, because to be honest, I had already decided this not drinking business was a bit dull, but now I intended to take his advice and keep it simple and just not drink.

Know That I Am!

As you gain more sobriety, your dreams will become much more weird....tonight may be the ghost of Christmas past!

Glad your not drinking.....keep it up

I hear a lot of talk about guilt on this forum, no doubt alcohol has damaged my personality, but I do not feel guilty about my drinking any more than I feel guilt about smoking (also given up).

I do what I do. I don't think raking up the past is healthy or helps us progress a new course in our lives, we must leave the past behind to focus on a future fit for purpose. Just my 2 pence worth, you have the right to disagree.

I agree! Remember and learn from the past - but 'Let it be' (as someone once sang)

That is just freaking cool mate.

In my opinion, that is your subconscious telling you to seek the spiritual path to being a recovered alcoholic.

The spiritual path seems to be asking you to take it.

My advice ? ..... get on it
