I am sad about my sister
I am sorry Susiequeue,
I know how much it hurts, to see a loved one caught in alcoholism. Even though we should not take it personally, as they are sick, our heartache is understandable.
Can you do some things to protect yourself, as in not setting yourself up for disappointment? We know we can't change, cure or control their drinking.
Are you getting to any meetings, such as Al-anon?
hugs,

Susie, I'm sorry for your pain. I'm very close to my sister also and can't imagine how awful it would be to watch her be consumed by alcoholism.
As Chicory mentioned, maybe some Alanon meetings would help you to take care of yourself.
I like this, and maybe you will too: http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...etting-go.html
Hoping you find a way to make peace w/the situation.
