I want to shout it from the rooftops.....
I'm free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As many of you know I quit my soul-crushing job in April, but continued to do some freelance work for my old boss. She is still a total psycho and pushed me completely to the limit with her selfishness and nasty backstabbing behavior.
I think when I went to my therapist last week and he told me to dump her it gave me a final boost of confidence to do so. I could see the trainwreck coming and I knew she was about to screw me over anyway. I could tell that she was setting things up to "fire" me so I took preemptive action.
I wrote her a scathing letter ending our relationship, both professionally and personally. It was professional and to the point, but I also called her the eff out on a lot of things, which NO ONE ever does.
I feel so vindicated and proud of myself for finally standing up to her, taking my power back, and ridding myself of this toxic person in my life.
I'd post the letter here but that would be very unprofessional of me, now wouldn't it?!
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! I feel like my creative energy is back 100% since I never, ever have to work on anything for her again and can focus on the writing I really enjoy.

Your story sounds like mine! There is something very freeing about steering your own ship.
Good luck with it all. There's nothing worse than being a writer, having to be creative and work stress-free and having to deal with knobs in the background.

When I got this job in 2010 I was very depressed and at a desperate place in my life. My confidence was shot. I built it again over the years, and the past year of working on myself and my recovery made me see that this relationship was no different than any other codependent ******** I've put up with in other areas of my life. I am so grateful that I am strong and getting healthier by the day.
