Day 7

Completed my 1st Weekend Sober in 20 years.

Was very hard I can tell you.

But, feel great today.

Friday. I went for a pub lunch. Was fairly easy. Just ate lots of food and no one was drunk. Seeing a pint on the side as I walked in was hard to take. But got over that and felt alive at work in the afternoon when everyone was sleepy.

Friday night was strange. I walked around for a couple of hours not knowing what to do with myself. In some kind of dream world. Went home. Watched TV. Ate loads and slept.

Went out Saturday. Yes pub again. Didn't drink. Friends were fine for the first couple of hours. Got the usual. This won't last yada yada. Ignored it. They started annoying me after about 3 hours as they were getting tipsy and I was boring and felt withdrawn from the conversation so just left!

Sunday walked 15 miles. Watched the football (Yes. In a Pub) Did not drink.

I find it easier in the day as people are not drunk. Evenings are a different matter.

Feel amazing today and things seem to be going right for me again after only a week. So hold in there guys.

Joined the gym today. So hopefully less time having to be in pubs!!!

Thanks SR. Couldn't have done it without you,.x

It is going to stay hard if all you do with your time is hang out in pubs, especially in early recovery. Hard to fight off the urge when a pint is just within reach.

Me too, feels great, I've never had a problem not drinking week nights, as i knew i could get hammered on weekends. I didn't even sniff a drink, feel so positive today. Off to an AA meeting tomorrow for more support. Lets keep it up
