Forgiving Yourself

This has never ever been a strong point of mine. It's something I hardly know how to do. I realize I need to learn better how to do this. Any advice?

Wouldn't worry about it too much
It comes in time
If we keep doing the right things

Could be God's way of reminding us
So as to not deceive ourselves yet again

That makes alot of sense. After all, I am only just now trying to make changes and move past alcohol's role in my life. I can't expect to be ok with what has happened overnight. Ty mm

Treat yourself as you would a child of yours. Would you forgive your child. Would you berate your child. Be kind to yourself and give yourself credit for trying to change. I think being kind to yourself is the first step in being kind to others. As you forgive others, it is easier to forgive yourself. It is kind of a merry go round.

That is a really nice way of looking at it, honestly my councilor told me that last week. I am going thru some self-seeking drama and I to find it hard to be nice and forgiving to myself also, so as we speak I am journaling that bit of advice cause I spaced it out so thank you for advice and thread

The best way I find to put right the things I've done in the past, is to make the right changes in my life moving forward, being Sober and showing others that I have changed through my actions is a great healer in time!!
