Today is my first sober Friday in 14 years

The title says it all. It's a huge mini victory for me today. I have been on SR since 8:30 this morning and filled my evening with activities and SR. I can't believe I did it. But I am glad I did. Wow a Saturday morning with no hangover....

Thanks hearts and Dee. I think of my self as a mans man but I am just overwhelmed with joy and a 1000 emotions. My son is laying in my lap asleep and I am sober, sober, sober!!! I am elated.

Congrats to you Hearts! Doesn't it feel great?

I keep trying to process my feelings. But to hell with all of that tonight. I'm just going to enjoy the moment

I used the phrase, "I'm going to bed sober tonight," for the first couple months - every day.

There will be awkward moments ahead, but you'll make it - congratulations!!

Thanks everyone for the support. I could not have been successful today without SR. I am sitting here with perma-grin. I wrote earlier that this was a huge mini victory. Who am I kidding. This is a huge victory period.

I m already putting my plan in place for tomorrow. A plan for sobriety. Thanks again SR

Hearts...I am pulling for you. Your posts have been monumental for me today. I hope I have assisted you in some small way today.
