Hi I am new
This is my first try at an online recovery forum; actually any kind of thing like this. I don't spend much time online and am easily confused about how these things work. That said I would like to share that I have 3 years and 5 mo. clean and sober and am doing relatively well except for a few areas. I had been addicted to substances for a very long time and that has had long-term detrimental effects on so many areas of my life and right now I am really struggling with being able to find where I fit in the working world. I feel like I was asleep for 25 years and awoke to find that I no longer knew how the world worked. I have thought about returning to school but financially that is difficult right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't know what a tag is. Thank you
Welcome! Congrats on nearly three and a half years clean and sober.
I'm sorry school seems to be out of the question right now. Is there a college or university near you? Can you audit the classes? I don't know if that's still done. Used to be, at the college town I grew up in. You could sit in the class and learn, but didn't get grades. You got no credit for the course but you didn't pay to sit there.
Google "free education" in "your town" and see what comes up.

Hi Suebee, welcome! I love Madison, btw. Have been there for work.
Glad you're here. Do they offer training courses or tuition reimbursement through your job?
And congrats on your sober time.
