AA and RR/AVRT
I met some really kind, supportive and generous folks at AA, and I am sure your experience would be the same. Please do whatever works for you. Above all, believe in yourself, your ability to get and stay sober, and that you deserve this. Onward!
That's what I did - AVRT with AA meetings (and some CBT). I like the company of other people who get it. I haven't been to a meeting in a while, but I'd go back in a heartbeat if I thought I needed a booster shot.
You're name is CutenGayYay, and you're worried about whether or not your sobriety method is weird?
You got this.

No, not weird. I use AVRT, and while the author is critical of AA, I've often thought of returning to a meeting or two per week simply because in general I like the atmosphere and people at the meetings I usually attend, and I like to be around sober people.

I say whatever works for you. In my case AA was the only show that I knew of in the mid 70s and it worked for me after a fashion. My big concern about most if not all other methods is the lack of person to person contact along with participating at meetings. I and other need structure that AA offers with BB meetings and sharing at meetings so I can remember that it was hell picking up the drink. I like a phone call from someone saying they missed me at a particular meeting or meeting someone walking in town and end up talking for awhile. I have a fear that only 3% who with +10 years sobriety and have a relapse can get sober again and sure don’t want to. Most of my friends are in the fellowship is another reason for me and we catch each other when we get off balance and could use a “tune up.”
