Post Brown - A poem

I have a friend who is currently relapsing. I wrote this today.
Not really looking for feedback, but it would be appreciated.
I guess I just want to put it out there so maybe could understand or relate to an addict.
And also remember, you can not make a persons choices for them, no matter how much you might want to. You can only be there.

Brown

Yellow is the color of hope.
Though you may stumble through the dark,
She will guide you home.

Green is the color of compassion.
Though the night may be long,
She will wipe away your tears.

Brown is not like the others.
She brings escape and instant gratification,
But at a heavy price.

The others, they plead,
"Run while you can!
It isn't too late.
We're waiting for your return."

You were lost for a time,
But you returned to their arms again.

Yellow is the color of awakening;
She brings the gift of second chances.

Green is the color of growth;
She brings the gift of new life.

But Brown is the color of temptation.
She will not go that easily.
She says, "My love for you does not end!"
She offers a vampires kiss once more.

Yellow is the color of forgiveness;
Mistakes will still be made,
But her warm light will always come again.

Green is the color of healing;
Pain can not be escaped,
But her arms will always be open.

But Brown is the color of possession.
She will take your money, your job and your sanity...
And when you are alone she will whisper,
"They do not love you like I do.
I will never let go. "

The others, they cry,
"Turn back while you can!
Your sins are forgotten.
We're longing for your return."

In the end, it's your choice to make.

Yellow is the color of redemption.
She will return to guide you home.

Green is the color of restoration.
She will return to wipe away your tears.

But Brown is the color of death.
She will give you nothing more.

Thank you.
I'm debating on whether or not I should send it to him. I honestly don't know if it will do any good.
