Not sure what you mean by alternative... ?

My husband went to a Non 12 step rehab that was based mainly on private therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, group therapy, etc. After that he came home and continued with private therapy. His recovery is basically just continuing to live a happy, healthy, normal life.

There are a lot of non 12 step programs out there also. Rational Revcovery, Smart Recovery, Lifering are just a few...

There are also some very good articles published on this topic of what works in recovery' evidence based treatments is a good one to google. Looking at National Institute of Drug Abuse as they give a list of examples of evidence based, meeting peoples individual needs, etc.

Not sure what your looking for exactly, if you want to pm me then maybe I can share some links might be helpful to you.

celebrate recovery is considered "alternative" because it follows the "8 principles" not the "12 steps" it's the one and only program that has ever helped me
