Any Tips on How to Deal With Your AV?
As I near day 30 of my sobriety journey, I was hoping some of you may offer up some tips on how to subdue/ignore/obliterate my alcohol voice. Yes, I know diversions are ideal, but sometimes it's just not possible to escape it. It is so annoying and it can be so strong sometimes, like today after a particularly long and wonderful mountain hike a cold beer would have tasted so good...
Any helpful hints appreciated.

Hi AH
Congrats on 30 days! These struggles are just exercises training you to become the person you know you should be. Never give up on yourself. You can do this.
Fight the urges with time. Typically 20 minutes later they pass and you will be glad you didnt drink.

Cold soda or water tastes just as good, and it doesn't come with all the consequence of alcohol. It's important to remember that we don't drink alcohol for taste. Our AV wants us to think that of course, but it's a lie. Think it through....some logic and playing the tape forward is a great way to hush the AV
If you've not heard of AVRT (Addictive Voice Recognition Technique) that's something I'd read up on - it's one of the hallmarks of Rational Recovery
