Day 2- Not bad

Feeling pretty great right now. I'm only about 42 hours since last drink, but it hasn't been bad. Didn't crave last night, slept decent after 50 mg of diphenhydramine, mowed the front and back yard today, sprayed round-up on all my front weeds and my next door neighbors weeds (she's old, and never gets help lol) , and took my daughter to all of her pre-k appts. I figured my withdrawal would be similar to last time, but it's definitely different, and much better. I'm hoping that I still stay okay through tonight-day 4, but if symptoms only get better, I should be good. I don't think I need AA or anything like that, just accept the fact that Even though everyone thinks I'm not an alcoholic, I AM an alcohol abuser, and to me, that's a problem, and my decision to make. Me drinking again was a result of 1) my own stupidity 2) stress/anxiety over trying to sell our house. This time, I'm being rational, and very grateful that I'm breezing through this. The house is still for sale, and it's going to either sell/ stay on the market whether I drink or not. It's still stressful whether I drink or not. Going to keep reading, and posting. Thanks for all the support everyone!

I am on day 2 as well. I think that there is always a "reason" to drink. For me it's almost always boredom. But if it's not boredom, then it's "it's a nice day out and a drink would be great with this project I am doing" or whatever else. Stress and anxiety is another excuse I use. Anyway, all that to say - no more excuses Day 3 tomorrow!

I'm right on line with you! Actually almost to the exact hour (Twilight Zone..) Almost 45 hours.

No compulsion to drink today...Feeling much better. I have a plan of ACTION for today and i plan to FOLLOW through on it.

Reading your post gives me the strength to power on. We are not alone in this struggle for sobriety.

I wish you a safe and sober day.
