That must be just awful to deal with. I hope no one was hurt. Alcohol won't fix anything and will just make things harder.

I live about five streets above this. It's one of those things I would certainly consider before I bought up on my hill me and the price of my house is irrelevant. If I sold it for a dollar it wouldn't sell if people are afraid it's going to slide down the hill...

OMG. I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope everyone is safe!

I agree it's not worth losing your sobriety, though I'm sure almost anyone would think of drinking after that! Glad to hear you're staying strong!

You posted a pic last week of the view from your home. i gather that you are on top of the hill?
that SAME hill?

whew, i guess this is someone's way of telling you it is NOT the time to put your house up for sale if you wish to have a profit.

Fandy we are on top. The part that collapsed is around the corner but still part of the same hill. We can't see it from where we live but I'm sure this will affect us. I was praying for a sign. This is not the sign I wanted. I'm so bummed.

Oh no, Raider. As ESD said, let's hope it doesn't put people off.

Thinking of you.

Thank goodness everyone was OK and it was slow enough that everyone could get out. Sounds like it's a problem they knew about behind that home for quite some time based on the reports. That along with freak rainstorms were a one-in-a-million chance, but Massive rainstorms can cause problems no matter where you live. We had entire small towns literally removed from the map due to heavyrainfall a few years back around here.

You cannot control nature of course, and people have pretty short memories when it comes to finding a nice home. Worry about things you can control today!

Yes Scott. I'm trying to wrap my little pea brain around the fact, I am powerless over this act of Mother Nature.

I swear if I drank right now, I'd be swimming in the bottom of the bottle for a year. Would that serve me well? No I know it would not.

So let's go elyptical for awhile. Clear my head. And make a plan. Ok. Deep breath. Stop the tears. Put on the God armor. Move on Pam.....

I'm so sorry Raider. But glad it wasn't you and your house! Drinking won't help a thing. Have a good workout on your elliptical.

I worked in building and real estate so I understand how something like this can affect the immediate surroundings and prices. In time, maybe things will be right back to normal. I am so sorry it happened at such an inopportune time for you.
