Thumbs down never doubt the power

Well I was sober for a whole 13 months. Things were going so great.
Last night I relapsed. Never thought I would.
I got ahead of myself and gave myself too much credit.
I wasn't as strong as I thought I was because I gave in so fast once I was given the opportunity even after 13 months of being sober.
I feel so weak and so lost again now!

Here's to starting over..... AGAIN!!

Hi and welcome back. My relapses made me feel so low that they became the norm. you have the advantage of the experience of having a year sober to build on again with positive memories to help.
It’s work again but certainly worth it.
Good reading might be Dee74s post regarding relapses newly started.

BE WELL

Unjust saw my therapist and he said the year mark is very dangerous! Not sure why yet cuz I am creeping up on 6 months. Wow, 13 months, awesome! Use your relapse as motivation and get right back in there, sobriety isn't a
Number it's a journey And you are on it! Hang in there!

Hey, I am really sorry that happened. Please don't throw yourself and the past 13 months out though. You know you can do this and the past 13 months are proof of that.

I will be thinking of you today!

Learn from the experience and it doesn't have to happen again.

This disease is relentless and it will take any opportunity to claim us.

EJ43 I always heard the same from my therapist and others going through recovery. I hear the 1-year mark and the 7-year mark for some reason. My therapist insisted on meeting more often during this year milestone and I didn't want to and thought I wouldn't need it. Clearly I was mistaken.

Thank you guys for the replies and support and feedback! It truly means a lot knowing you have so much support behind you to steer you the right way!
