Husband and I got 2 Red Bulls. No alcohol. The funny thing is, they put the drinks in cups that said Coca-Cola on the outside. Obviously the non-alcohol cups. We were the only ones with these cups...lol
When my husband went to throw his cup away, this very drunk man came up to me and was hitting on me. He reeked!
Later, a man was near the stage and yelling - you suck! You suck! - to the opening band...2 security guards went up to him and kicked his ass out. It was the drunk guy who was hitting on me! Lol
I said to my husband - the irony is, this drunk guy would not have been hitting on me when I was a drunk 4 weeks ago. I looked like utter cr-p.
I also thought, maybe he'll be on SR in future and talk about how he got kicked out of a concert before the headliner! For yelling "you suck" at the opening band.
So glad I didn't drink. For 3 reasons.
1) had no interest in waking up with a hangover
2) drunk people can't dance and are embarrassing
3) no arguments, no rudeness from me
I am SO nice sober. My niceness surprises me which is actually kind of pathetic. Pathetic that I haven't seen myself nice for so long!
The lady standing ahead of me had a flask. She was so drunk. At some point she left. She probably went to the bathroom and passed out. I mean I don't know but she never came back.
Another lady collapsed during the opening band. Security guards had to carry her out.
Oh and as we were entering, they were people carding for wristbands to buy alcohol. The people handing out wristbands were chanting "drink a lot! Drink a lot!"...
Ok tomorrow 23 days sober!
I think taking care of my liver is taking care of me. I just thinks it's such an important organ and if you keep it heathy, you will be healthy.
Sorry this post will probably be mega long and I am tired and rambling.
The band was Echo and the Bunnymen and when we got tickets I wasn't sober. It was sold out.
I do plan to take some time off from seeing rock concerts. I have nothing more planned.
But even at SF Ballet's The Nutcracker last year, there was booze everywhere. It's everywhere! Lol...yes, I can laugh about it now...a little!

I do believe certain bands bring out the drinking an drugging crowd.
That being said, I went to a concert on the Fourth of July. While I noticed some people drinking, many were not drinking.
In a perfect world, every where we go no one would be drinking. That's not going to happen.
The longer you are sober, the less you will focus on people drinking.

but in SF it's hard to walk down the street without smelling it. I used to walk to nursing class at 7am and smell it! SF has a big drug problem. It reeked of marijuana last night and I was certainly inhaling a lot of it because I had to breathe! I would have had to hold my breath to avoid it!
I just saw Peter Murphy (formerly of a band called Bauhaus) and in 2013, saw Depeche Mode. Oh, and also X. The bands I like have been predominantly British for some reason although I wouldn't say I have a favorite band anymore. My husband and I also went to Bruce Springstein awhile back, my husband likes him. I do too but never enough to buy anything. I love the saxophone in his songs. We also saw The Cure, because I am a huge Cure fan.
I spend too much time hearing kid's jingles these days! but I do love The Fray, OneRepublic, Nickelback, Creed, Linkin Park and Lifehouse just hearing their songs when I used to be driving to work.
SO nice waking this morning and no hangover! and my daughter gets up early whether or not mom has a hangover! lol...
I'm struck by how good my skin looks. I don't have to spend a long time covering up reddish cheeks. Well, I spend no time covering anything because the red cheeks are gone, no dark circles, nothing. Not drinking has taken years off of me. In physical appearance, mentally, psychologically...
and I am considerate and thoughtful which I love. I love being a nice person. Before I had to try, and I was often sarcastic and snarky.
