I take it you were here before, quit coming, then went off the reservation?

Welcome back.

Well, you stay sober by not drinking. Anything you do that keeps you from drinking is good. Anything you do that helps you to drink is bad.

You should remember that it's rough from the start but gets better every day. That feeling better every day eventually leads to the thought that "I feel great! I can handle one drink." Which leads to two, which leads to EPIC FAIL! (See recent experience)

It's great you came back here. Don't go away this time.

Welcome back animal nurse!
I was thinking about you the other day when I was out
with my dogs. How are yours?

I also found quitting harder after my relapse last year,
which made me very determined to not slip again.

What have you changed about what you are doing this time
that didn't work for you before? Are you getting any outside help
this time? Willpower alone won't do it for lots of us.

Posting daily here would help a great deal
and I suggest you join the August class to be with others
who are at about the same place. Tomorrow will be Aug 1 in NZ right?

You can start things

Missed you!

Welcome back AnimalNurse

I think it does get harder the longer we drink... it's like we keep dogging a deeper hole, so it take more effort to climb back out to the top.

I'd be doing everything I could..check out AA, check out CADS...post here daily...join the Class of July support thread

use everything you have

D

Thanks guys.yes the plan is to stick around, talk about it, attend some meetings altho I'm not a huge fan. I was practicing mindlefullness before and that really helped. I think I relapsed last time cos I wanted to, to be honest!

My doggies are good and somehow I've been able to 'function' enough to keep running with them and stuff. The like me better when I'm sober tho .

Welcome back, animalnurse. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and give it another go. Maybe this time it will stick. You will be so happy when you do it-and you CAN do it!

Welcome back animalnurse. After every relapse I realize more and more how much I love being sober, how badly and necessary being sober is for me. Lets make the last relapse our final relapse.

You can do this. We will all help each other!
