Why not

Hey hey

I'm currently in a rehab facility and found this place from a search. I'm a professional singer but would like to keep everything else relating to my identity a secret. I have been looking at the forum here as it has been suggested. I will add my input where I can. I'm not doing anything else for a few weeks so I might as well be here than watching movies.

Thanks, even though this is a bit daunting.

Hi sunsettattoo

you can absolutely give us as much, or as little, detail as you want - whatever you're comfortable with

welcome to SR

Hi Sunset, welcome. Keep reading and learning. I've found so many people in my same situation who understand and offer great advice. It's amazing how much support you will get here.

Welcome. No one cares what you do, your race, your sexual orientation, your education, age, sex, income or anything else. Addiction does not discriminate. We are here to support each other and to fight our common enemy.

Post if you feel inspired or just read but keep an open mind and look for similarities not differences

Welcome to SR. Lot of folks here would benefit from rehab and either can't go, or won't. So I hope you don't squander your opportunity. And I hope we can be an added tool in your recovery toolbox.

Very true! And good to have you here, Sunset. It's cool to see that you're browsing a sobriety site during your free time in rehab...I didn't find SR until I got out of rehab, and it's been a real solid and helpful community for me on the "outside".

Take advantage of all the help you're getting, and do your best to participate and follow the rules. It pays off in the end. Welcome and good luck!

C'mon in..the water's fine! As far as anonymity...no problem. If you stick around and get to know the community...you will find you can make some endearing and emotionally affectionate connection with folks here who only know ya by "sunset tattoo". There are folks here I consider my "friends" but I have no idea who they are, where they live or heck even what the "do". I might be advised or pick it up in a post..but I forget pretty quickly. It's their "essence" that shines through their usually fictional avatar and SR handle that I connect to. Some here I know by "first name" that might be shared via private mail...but mostly ..through and through..to me, they ARE "MIRecovery" or "Least" or "Hawkeye" or "Doggonecarl" (okay..I do refer to the latter as Carl sometimes..which may or may not be his real name ; )
