The day alcohol turned............

on me was Friday

I was tapering after yet another slip but how wrong it went

the more I drank the worse I felt until it got to the point where I was vomiting every drink back up

Friday night was a nightmare was so sick my throat hurt and even my OH suggested A&E at 3 in the morning

It was almost as if my body was rejecting it to save me

it worked.........I was terrified and made a journal of that night and I honestly think it was the kick up the backside I needed

This is my last day 3

Hope you all well

Mike

Glad you're ok

I really hope you can make this your turning point Mike
Got any ideas on how you'll proceed from here?

I'd say my body started rejecting alcohol the last time. Heart palpitations, the whole shebang. It was not pleasant in any way, shape, or form.

well first off Dee I need to get through day 3 and 4 so it's chill out days

Am speaking to my GP Wednesday and getting a call back today from Leeds Adiiction Unit

The problem now is have no appetite due to stomach ache caused by vomiting and due to scaring myself ******** my anxiety is somewhere between the moon and venus

A good sober week - leaving the house and showering / shaving would be good too

AA meet Sunday night and here

Sounds like your body has had enough mate.
Time to heal now.
From where you were it only gets better if we stop and stay that way.
Some days it's about just not drinking come what may.
And in time it becomes miraculous.
Stay with it buddy.

Hi. Try to remember this and it's a good "remember when" for the future.

I needed to remember that if I didn't pick up the first drink that I would not have to try to get sober AGAIN.

BE WELL

You need to get yourself better mate.

I have an illness where I can be sick for days and days on end.
I'm 2 years sober and have never been so ill.
I couldn't imagine drinking now with the sickness I have to endure. It can strike whenever, I can be driving and have to pull over to be sick sometimes.

I end up really dehydrated as I cannot keep water down and I feel faint from not eating.

I think the dehydrated weak state I am in makes me even more anxious sometimes.

If you can try and get some rehydration sachets to mix with water from the chemist or the supermarket.
They will help replace lost fluids your body needs.
I find its best to keep away from citrus drinks like orange juice as it makes your throat worse.
Clear soups can also be helpful if you have not eaten for a while.

A word of warning though is just be careful as I think I caused damage to myself through drinking and being sick and not eating as I should and I regret it so much. I have pains in my chest, I'm sick, I feel ill 9 times out of ten. Take this as a warning sign and don't do anymore damage to yourself.

I wish you the best xx

Nope, this happened a long time ago, my friend. If you are finally starting to see that, then perhaps it is you who has taken a turn...for the better.

Welcome back. Feel better soon!

Yep it's time to quit for good.................while I still can

Sasha you have my best wishes

Am managing half a sandwich here / a banana there and about half an evening meal so not not eating but not enough and drinking water

trouble is my anxiety has got it in my head that I will faint in the shower so am sat here looking and smelling like the missing link

Normally by day 3 am getting set to go but this time has knocked me for 6 - should have stuck at 1 detox ....................idiot

good news that it turned on you...

who wants to hang out with a bastard like that anyway???

pick up the vibes it's throwing down and just leave the stuff behind.

it's way better down the sober road anyway.

mje, good luck. It does get better. I almost had a drink my first week so I could feel well enough to get things done. But I didn't. What an irony it is that we drink to feel better-in the short term. But long term is when you really get the payoff. (So they tell me here! lol. And I am believing them and hanging in there with you.

Hi Mike, gosh do I feel for you. Feeling like that is the absolute worse. Good thing you don't have to experience that ever again. Remember why your here if your AV starts up again. Go back to the journal often. So you don't have to go through this again
