Newbie

Hi,
This is only my 4th day sober. My husband and I are alcoholics but I'm the only one who has made the choice to get sober. This is probably the 100th time I have tried and hoping it will stick this time. I've been an alcoholic for over 20 years and I think it's time. I had my fair share of embarrassments and humiliations. That I don't want them anymore. I've hurt enough people around me including myself that I want the vicious cycle to end. I'm definitely doing it for myself and no one else.

I'm going to need all the help and support I can get. I'm not ready to let my family in on it because I have failed so many times and this includes my husband. He knows I have fallen off the wagon so many times.

I guess that's enough for now.

Cheli,
try to not to worry about the things in the past. Concentrate on the right things right now, and for today. Dont worry about tomorrow yet either, its not even here yet. Remember, TODAY are you doing right?

also i wanted to add, I too have been through multiples failures at sobriety, and the reactions that come from it. You dont have to tell them if you dont want. I too have been through the "well we've heard all this before" routine, and it certainly doesnt help the matter any, in fact I find it quite detrimental.

Everyone has been VERY SUPPORTIVE! This is great. I wasn't expect this kind of response and support so fast. It truly feel like I found the right forum and place to be! You guys are great!
