Been doing a lot of thinking since my last post from yesterday

I have no other choice but to quit drinking. Brought me nothing but heartache. I was thinking about the "good times"...sure I've had some (At least that is what you think until you wake up the next day vomiting and in the back seat of your car...you know how the rest of the day goes....). I was thinking about the "bad times"...all I can say is wow look at all the trouble it has gotten me into!

Drinking brought me so many great things such as:
1) Losing Job (missing and being late to work)
2) Issues with the law
3) Relationship issues
4) Health issues (being diabetic and drinking don't mix)
5) Losing a ton of money
6) Thrown out of places
7) Blackouts
8) Getting into fights
9) Detox (numerous times)
10) Last but not least...so damn hammered couldn't get it up (my fav)

I'd like to say thank you, but no thank you to that friend I called my buddy "Vodka". True friends don't get friends into that kind of trouble.

Goodbye( I want it to be for good this time, not just because I'm stressing about life or what steps I need to take in life next!)

I hate you and I mean it.

It seems we have a lot in common. But we are here now.

I was surprised by the positives of not drinking- they keep stacking up, and count for a lot in time.

It's amazing how we choose those things isn't it? Just goes to show you the power drinking has over us that we lose what really matters to us.

pretty amazing when we think about the actively drinking alcoholic
even if 1 thru 10 above was printed on every bottle of booze sold
like sheep going to slather
they would buy the bottle with no thought of any consequences

Thanks for all of the support guys. I gave all of this a longggggg thought last night, and it's true I have to do something. Wife is on her last leg with me. I feel on the verge of losing everything we built. I haven't been in this predicament before (jobless, broke, dealing with a lawyer for my case). Crazy times, but I think it takes one being in a position where you either are on the verge of losing everything, or already have in order to make a conscience decision to do something about it.

Great post, we don't have to go back to where we've come from if we don't want to!!

Still hanging in there...read my top 10 again. Thought about drinks this weekend, but that was just because that is what I'd normally be doing. No going out or partying the last couple weekends. Woke up feeling good with no nausea or hugging the toilet from a booze fest.

well many learn their lesson before that point in time
but
I didn't
but to remember
there is always something worse for us out there if we keep drinking
I also found that to be true
