Emotional/Mental turmoil manifesting in physical pain
Emotional/Mental turmoil manifesting in physical pain
morning (or afternoon/evening!)
I posted in the health forum for help but it got me thinking about this...
I have a low back that basically hates me right now. Like HATES me. I'm in a crazy amount of pain and no amount of stretching or anything is alleviating it.
Got me thinking about how our bodies carry the emotional stresses we are dealing with.
At 74 days sober and facing some pretty crapa$$ situations, I am definitely feeling overwhelmed by a plethora of emotions I normally would have drank away (which in turn, caused it's own physical pain!) ...and trying to learn the tools to cope with them in a productive and healthy manner!
I think that being able to "let go" of these internal turmoils will help our bodies to be at it's best, but man!!! what a feat this is turning out to be!!!
anyone else find their bodies going through some weird stuff as they sober up and start facing reality?

Yes, for sure. I had been ignoring my health for most of the three years I was drinking. And, lower back pain is often caused by stressed. For me, that's the case too.
This usually helps me, but it's definitely not a quick fix. I hope you feel better, Jup:
