New Acquired Food/Drink Habits
Well, a lot more non-alcoholic beverages, that's for sure.
I noticed I've dropped more food habits than I have picked up. I used to eat a lot of salty snacks, nuts and so forth, when I drank. All the better to wash down with beer. When I quit drinking I quit all that snacking too.

I'm eating much healthier these days. I tried to eat healthy while drinking but it just wasn't sustainable because I'd binge on junk during a blackout. Ha!
I eat mostly paleo with an emphasis on lots of veggies and fruits. I drink coffee, herbal teas, seltzer water and juice. No soda, no added sugar. I really like mint tea, btw!

I've always been a tea addict, it's just way more amplified now! I have a drawer at work that is a small tea shop
Flavoured seltzer water is now a fave.
As for food, I always ate fairly well and never even really ate "junk" when binging, I just wouldn't eat at all. I'm a big fan of my NutriBullet and make smoothies almost daily with kale, fruit, almond milk, chia seeds...whatever I feel like!
my comfort food has NEVER changed. PHO - the Vietnamese beef noodle soup.
when hungover, it was the only thing I could stomach.

I have always been a little vain/body conscious. I can't tell you the number of delicious meals I have passed in order to save calories for the booze I was drinking. I never ate dessert, never had any type of soda or juice that wasn't diet, heavy restriction on carbs... All so I could take in about 800-1400 calories of liquor that night. A past drinking buddy of mine would always try to assure me that our drinking was ok from a fitness standpoint because "we drink really clean, all our mixers are either soda water or diet"....
O...M...G... what total bullsh***, lol. 1000 of alcohol is pure crap, regardless what you're mixing it with.
Anyways, point of my long rant is I'm allowing myself to have a little dessert, or a regular soda from time to time, or a little bread or popcorn. Even if I were to go crazy on a huge piece of cake, that' s still like half the calories of a standard night of drinks. I like popsicles too.

PHO - I like the beef lover's kind which mixes rare and well-done beef with a bisected meatball.
With a side order of imperial rolls, I'm in gastric happyland. My love affain with it is only about 12 years old.
Though my go to since quitting drinking is Pepsi. My biggest change is I'm actually making sure I eat three meals a day. Beer is no longer available as a meal option on the eating plan.

I wonder If I"m alone in this... I'd 'wake' up in the morning and find a pizza crust or 1/2 sandwich next to me. Or I'd sneak eat, the way I'd sneak drink and 2 days later find a wedge of cheese in my laundry basket.. And for those prior 2 days be wondering where it went, (didn't remember eating it). NOW, I'm trying to be healthy. Im loading on spinach, white beans and crave salads with pomegranite balsamic vinegar..its so good.
