Angry Day nine. Where's the wine.

Not literally. But seriously. Ugh – obsessing about it real bad this afternoon. Envisioning the way it would feel to touch my lips, run down my throat, the warmth that would encompass my entire being.... even just temporarily… sometimes it feels like the consequences would be worth it for the immediate effect. I know from experience I’ve never felt that way AFTER a drunk. But beforehand is a different story.

Struggling, but planning to stay strong & hit a meeting this evening. Even though that’s the last thing I really want to do.

Hope this obsession thing goes away soon. Not loving it. Grrrrr.

Stay the course. We've all been there.

It gets better. Find ways to change your thoughts when that happens. Take a walk, call a friend, work a Sudoku puzzle, pet an animal, take ten deep breaths.

Stick to it!! Today would be day 8 for me but I messed up and now I'm back to day 3. The guilt is NOT worth it. Congrats on day 9!!

every struggle to get through makes you stronger, you will feel terrible giving up 9 days. Go take a shower/bath...have a cup of tea, do a load of laundry, change your sheets, iron your work clothes for Wednesday. These are all the things I do, plus a zillion more.

change up your evening/drink time routine. Clean out a cabinet. Sort clothes for the donation bin. Make a gratitude list. Write some note cards to yur dearest and best friends telling them how much you treasure them.

clean out under the sinks. Make an extra nice dinner. read SR!

sobriety is like a muscle. It's gets stronger each day.

Love from Lenina

Thoughts of drinking, romanticizing
about it have no place to rent free
in my mind today.

What good would it do for me to allow
thoughts like that to invade my mind?

Not a darn thing. Causes more harm
than good for my health.

Each day I arm my mind, body and
soul with a recovery program that I
learned some 23 yrs ago and continue
to incorporate them in all I do, say, think.

Don't allow unwanted thoughts of poison
to rent free in your minds space. Fill it with
healthy, strong, useful thoughts to ward
off those unwanted demons.

Forget day 9 where's the wine.

Think of day 10 and dream of zen!

Honestly, I started timing myself when I felt stressed or started think a drink was an option. It's interesting to get an understanding of our cravings, and they do pass.

Ride it out, you'll be glad you did.

Sometimes a craving is very much like an "itch" you are dying to scratch. It will pass...just don't scratch it : )
