HI! I am just new to being sober and and nervous and excited! Honestly I feel like CRAP, I have been reflecting on the bad choices I have been making and my actions and I feel like poo and so does my body! I am officially 2 days sober. I have been on a month binge and really hope that I start to feel better soon. Every day is a new day, I am just trying to get through one minute at a time!
Hello and welcome.
I used to go on long binges, too. the day after was pure misery full of regret, anxiety and self-loathing.
It might be wise to check with your doctor and be brutally honest about your drinking.
You can do this, as you say, one minute at a time if need be.
You'll find lots of support here from people who have been there. And remember, you never have to drink again. And you never have to feel the way you do now. Think of that the next time you want a drink.

hi there and welcome
a month long binge? ouch...it may be worth thinking about seeing your Dr. to help with that....just to be safe.
But you're in good company here with oodles of support!!

Very glad to meet you davisbaby. We all know what you're going through - but it will get easier and better.
Congratulations for making the big decision to change your life. Try not to dwell on the past - look forward to the great new life you're about to have.

Welcome to the great support and wisdom here on SR
Reading a lot and posting helped me tremendously in the first days and weeks. Well, I still read a lot here and it still helps a lot.

Thanks everyone I really like this place!!! I am feeling A LOT better! Day 2 and 3 were HORRIBLE I felt like a had a nasty hang over! I'm feeling almost back to normal. My major struggle right now is cravings and insomnia. I needed alcohol to relax and go to sleep and I don't have it so I'm trying new things to get some zzz. I am proud though I had to go to the exec dinner tonight at work and it was a free bar and I did not have a single sip and am HAPPY! I do find that being home alone after my kids go to bed or making dinner is when I crave the most!
Good job, davisbaby.
I suffer from insomnia at times (like now - up and posting at 4:50 a.m.); my go-to is a cup of warm milk (with a hint of cocoa) before bedtime.
I craved wine while fixing dinner, also. Maybe some sparkling or flavored water would create some mental diversion (and boost hydration, too).
