Old Habits

I posted recently about not being able to enjoy some activities that I used to enjoy bc they just were not that fun without a drink. Well now something the opposite just happened to me. I got through it but only bc I'm taking Antabuse.

I travel by air on business with some frequency. Typically my trips are there and back in the same day. I used to look forward to having a few drinks, after the day was over, while waiting for the ride home. It was not all that hard to give that up. I just made sure I had less down time at the airport and I was fine.

However, last week I got to the airport and saw my plane was delayed! Yikes! Now not only did I have down time, I had lots of down time and frustration at knowing I would not be going home anytime soon.

I went to the best food place there I could find and treated myself to as nice dinner as one could get at an airport. Still had hours to kill. I was feeling very uncomfortable and then decided to rent a car and drive home. I escaped rather than deal with being there any longer. I'm sure I would have drank if I wasn't taking Antabuse.

Don't give antabuse all the credit. You were the one who chose not to drink. You were the one who set obstacles to drinking in your path. You made a conscious decision to not drink and you took steps to ensure that's the way it went down.

Antabuse was the tool. You were the architect.

Yeah , exactly what everyone said, especially like Non's

You didn't escape, you were pro-active, you were literally in the driver's seat, hope that realisation gives you the confidence to be proactive in the future

Thats actually a great success!

Each one makes you stronger the next time.

You did two good things. You ate, and you left when triggered. Pretty smart.
