Last visited here almost 2 years ago! I'M BACK!

Hi all,

I was here last 20 of August 2012, since then, after 9 months sober, I lapsed and have been 'function drinking' since. Nothing has really changed, just the same cycle of addiction. A lot of great things have happened in my life since, but I woke up this morning and realized so many more things could have happened and didn't because I let alcohol keep my complacent!!!

I'm sad I lost that time, but I'm happy I'm back here with you guys.

Here's to never, ever going back to the bottle.

xx

Bienvenue and so glad you've rejoined this forum. I'm finding it invaluable to assist me in my second attempt at recovery. Grab a case of Perrier water and off you go! You did it once, you can do it again.

Living sober one day at a time,

Welcome back. I know for me, the drink didn't result in huge cymbal crashing devastation...but my life, has been so very, very small because of it.

Just like you so much more could have happened had I not lived my life in the solace and amusement of a bottle.

Thanks everyone for the support. I'm really committed this time around. I'm looking for an online sponsor also if anyone knows where to look for that? I'm quite rural in a foreign country at the moment so I think this will be the best avenue. On reflection, I think I needed that one person I could reach out to last time around. Thanks for the help in advance.

Welcome back workingknee! I too came back after a few years of going back to drinking. It feels different this time and unfortunately, I needed those wasted (pun intended) years to get to this point. Anyway, glad you're back and made the decision to stop for good.

Hi

I'd like to hear about some of those "Great Things" that have happened in your life

Smiles-laughter- AND CHEERFUL news are the best medicines for healing. They get us back on the right path to recovery!

Glad your back!

Thanks guys - Dee - I remember how supportive you were last round, thank you so much, I came back here because of you.

Good things - I got engaged to a great man who doesn't do drugs or drink at all and is super lovely and wonderful. My work is going well and my daughter is happy and healthy and was accepted into Mensa and tomorrow graduates in her equestrian gallop class. So many good things going on that I don't want to blur or black out or lose.

I agree - lets celebrate the great things and keep clear eyes on the prize (or prizes) that come with sobriety!

Day 2. Super grateful! xx
