Feeling anxious

I know it's because the alcohol is getting out of my system. I just need to make it through today. Then I'll have a hope that I can make it this time. It blows my mind that I became an out of control drinker.

You can do it. One thing that helps me with withdrawal anxiety is to put on my walking shoes and going for a brisk walk. Any kind of exercise helps to relieve those uncomfortable feelings.

I have to get my strength back before I can exercise. Yesterday was a very heavy drinking day with very little food. I feel jittery and weak. Trying to drink lots and about to eat something.

Hang in there. I am on day 7 and feeling fantastic. it is definitely a bit of a roller-coaster but hang through the tough days, the best is yet to come.

Try 5 slow deep mindful breaths. It helps you relax.

Sinderos, it was anxious for me for some time, but all the aggravation goes away with time sober, rootin for ya.

The anxiety will ease with time, hang on there and know that life does get better!

I spent a lot of time on SR the first while; reading about other peoples' experiences forced me to get out of my own head and focus on the positive parts of sobriety. What I found here was hope ... hope that I could do this and that I was worth doing it for. Post lots if you feel like sharing and need some support. There are a lot of wonderful people here that are just like you and me ... a bunch of alcoholics trying to stay sober.

I didn't think I had a "bad" drinking problem. Yesterday was Day 1 and I just consumed fresh veggie and fruit juice. Well, I was sweating all night and it wasn't because of the weather. Now, Day 2 and I am continuing with just the veggie and fruit juices. I already feel better, I'm feeling calmer. Good luck!
