My sponsor gave me an "assignment" to list the characteristics of MY God.
I'm working on this list.

My God:
Loves me unconditionally.
Keeps no record of wrongs
Counts my tears and holds me when I cry.
Sends angels to protect me from harm and show me where I harm myself.
Is sane and creates in me a sound mind.
Loves chatting with me.
Loves me as He created me tobe and loves who I am and am to be.
Never fails me
Never leaves me
Is encouraging.
Loves us all as we are
Does not discriminate
Wants peace for me
Frees me from fear shame and wrong thinking
Brings beauty from ashes
Is the voice of truth
Forgets my shortcomings, but not my pain.
Delivers me from temptation
Believes in me more than I do.
Cures my pa in eases my mind and restores me to sanity
Does not condemn me
Is not angry with me
Shows me that my purpose is to love and be loved.
Is open-minded and brings me to open mindfulness
Longs for my love and trust
Guides me and leads me
Does for me what I cannot do for myself.

Rant Alert----

Why is your sponsor assigning you this? What step are you on?

The program of recovery in the big book of AA requires writing on the 4th and 8th steps only. If this additional writing helps you I am all for it, but I hate it when people make AA more complicated than it was designed to be.

Thanks taking5. My sponsor isn't making me write. She knows that I write to process and she's doing what helps me... Giving me thoughts and topics for my writing. It might not work for most people but it's amazing for me

The last thing I want is to be a reason for dissension. Raider, I do believe that. But I was focusing on His characteristics not His actions. We all need to have our own concept of a higher power and others might have a different view. The simplest concept is enough to get started

You are doing great Chloe. Working on steps 2 and 3 right?
My Higher Power is feminine and some do not have any HP but use Good Orderly Directions or Group Of Drunks.
To each their own or like we say: live and let live.

I liked the list... Iam not in aa but have been and its your concept of a higher power no one else's... If the writing is helping you them that's awesome!!

Just remember like all other things in life other people like to push there views opinions etc on you... Recovery is a very personal and individual thing.. There is no wrong or right!!
