Four months sober and seeking community
So, well, hi.
I'm four months sober, with a husband who still drinks (non-problematically), and no sober community where I live. I'm not an AA attendee, so I thought I'd look around and find some people who understand that being sober isn't the same thing as 'just not drinking', if you see what I mean.

Four months is an amazing accomplishment, Afteralcohol. Welcome to the forum!
About the avatar: I initially thought it was abstract art
IMHO, rough sober morning for me and I will deal with the broken glass just as I deal with everything else. Successfully sober.

right on with four months!!!
Community is important.
I can relate on the spouse who drinks thing. For me, she's not my spouse at this point but a very close partner in love and life. She actually very seldom drinks and when she does only a beer, two tops. Still - even at that level it can sometimes mean some challenging feelings for me.
That said - my sponsor is 27 years sober and his wife drinks without problem in similar fashion. He has no trouble with it whatsoever and in part it's because he has been open with her and she with him and because he keeps AA in his life and works his sobriety daily.
Anyway, welcome.

I saw there are phone helplines that you can call. That sounds like a good alternative if there are no AA meetings around you.
