Agreed. I was absolutely exhausted at the end of my drinking days. I'm glad you found us.

Welcome to SR.

The anxiety should pass in a few days. Of course, if you have any concerns, don't hesitate to contact your physician.

Congrats on Day 1!

I allowed my drinking to consume my entire life and everyone in it.

It can be a difficult road back, but there are many people here who've built much better lives for themselves. The same is available to you.

ways to help avoid relapse

I'm almost 1 week clean now from my last relapse but I feel stronger this time and the reason is because everyday I remind myself what I went through in my last relapse, usually I wanted to forget all the horrors but then 2 weeks later I'd find myself right back where I was because I didn't constantly remind myself of what using led to. I also go to meetings EVERY night, even when I don't want to, I'm working the 12 steps with a sponsor, I even practice in my head saying no to myself and no to an imaginary person, in case I run into someone who says, "hey I got some do you want any?" AND I have made damn sure that I got rid of all numbers of dealers. I know every day when I get up that I'm in danger of a relapse so I also pray to my higher power to give me strength and to keep desire away from me. So far, so good. :-)

Day 2

Woke up still feeling rubbish & asking myself how I ended up like this, I have lost so many to this disease yet I still try & kid myself & others just a bottle and another, going to give it all I have and hopefully start living the life I know is there, tried aa and it does work for some, but it just wasn't for me, have a great day everyone remember you deserve it

Hey Mummy, that first week can be rough. Great going on day two. We are all here for you. We have been there and I for one never want to go back. I have never been to AA but I know a lot of people love it. I come to SR every day. I post, I read, and I learn. I did the step, but by myself. I enjoyed that. I learn every day right here in front of my computer. I am glad you are on this journey with us. I will be keeping you in my prayers.
