No you need to have 365 consecutive days of sobriety with no relapses or slips to get your 1 year AA coin. You can do it! Second chance.... :-) Hang in there!

your one year coin?

anyone can pick up one at any time, but you have to sleep with yourself at night.

I waited a complete year of continuous abstinence to pick up mine, you can do what you want.

This is something I've always wondered about, everyone is relying on everyone to be honest about their sobriety!!

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!

OOPS, that was a movie quote.

The other day I was presented with a six month coin. I said I didn't want it, maybe a year. But it was, "take it anyway, you earned it."
So I figured okay, why not. I showed it to my wife and she was very pleased and proud. I guess she didn't realize it was six months already. So now I will get my badges for her.

My sobriety is for me.

I'm not sure but I'll wager that more than one person has more than one 30 day, 90 day, etc. coin. That's why they don't mean much to me.

I understand it is an accomplishment that should be acknowledged. But what really counts for me is the satisfaction I receive knowing that I was drinking hundreds of dollars of alcohol and getting drunk every day to not spending a dime on it and no longer put it in my body.

Hang in there sameer. An inanimate object can be lost through a hole in your pocket. The satisfaction of knowing your accomplishment can never be taken from you.

Remember tho...the coin is not the prize - our recovery is

Get to a meeting a pick up a 24 HR CHIP Sameer. After 30 days pick up your 1 Month Chip and another each month you stay sober until you have 365 days, then you can get your 1 year Chip.
