Great weekend!

Obviously aside from the unplanned pregnancy!

I've had some good talks with people about things. Yesterday myself and my hubby spent the evening talking about last week/pregnancy/counselling/my recovery. We were both brutally honest and I woke up this morning feeling almost refreshed!

I've been having sickness the past few days which is a bit of a worry so early into recovery - it's been well over a month since I drank more than a glass of wine (and a calendar month tomorrow since I had that one glass two weeks into sobriety) but it reminds me of some of the worst mornings over the past four months after a binge . Even though I know it's not due to alcohol it troubles me.

Today we went for a lovely drive followed by walk to the beach - the three of us as a family. I couldn't walk too far as my foot is only beginning to heal but it was lovely anyway (can you beat ice-cream at the beach?). Weather held out and tonight we've had another talk.

I'm not making excuses but he truly is remorseful and getting help. I have a bag packed and hidden in case.

Overall I think it's been a positive weekend - I'm still sober

That sounds good, Needinghelp.

When my husband got physical many years ago, the first thing I did was call a battered women's hotline. I was astonished that they didn't counsel me to leave right then and there!

I ended up leaving and going to my dad's with the kids--then my dad started talking about lawyers and taking him for all he's worth (which wasn't even two nickels to rub together at the time). I was really mad at my husband, but that seemed too drastic at the time. My husband called and agreed to go to pastoral counseling with me.

We did, and we were both appreciated as very hurting, struggling people who weren't locked into our destructive behaviors of the past. We got better, and my husband never laid a hand on me again.

We've been through illnesses and huge ups and downs, but we are much better off now than we were then, and we celebrate 30 years this August.

God bless you guys! Here's to a happy family life for many years to come!

I'm worried for you but I know ultimately it's your call as to what happens.
I also hope things continue to go well for you

Thanks dee, I appreciate the concern.

There's a lot going on and we have a huge way to go. I'm not being naive but I'm taking things one step at a time.
