Hello

Hi. Just thought I would say hello to everyone and tell them a bit about myself as I have only joined. I always thought I could stop drinking on my own. Ive finally accepted it just doesnt happen, sooner or later I end up putting the brakes on Lately I can last up to a monthish sober but then something just clicks and I am on another wreckless rampage

My new plans now are to take more action in staying sober, joining the website and reading a lot will hopefully help. I have also decided that stopping drinking and carrying on as normal clearly is not working so I need to find some new hobbies and possibly new friends. No idea were to start though, But anyway, nice to meet everyone!

Welcome to the Forum PolarBearLion!!

Sounds like you've made a great start, changing our thinking and perspective when something doesn't seem to be working and making changes is a very important step!!

You'll also find loads of support here on SR!!

I also just joined a few days ago. I have been struggling with alcohol for 16 years and have come to the conclusion that I also cannot do this on my own either.
The site has been wonderful so far. Lots of support. It is a start for me.

Polarbearlion:

Why not give Rooster and Chicken a try too? lol

No we can't do that! that would be mixing the Country with the Wild. Then again we are all supposed to get along so why not

(I hope I spelled Country right.....no spell check)

Glad your here

I've welcomed you, now I will answer your Q. I am older, 49, so I am trying to get more in shape. I ride my bike around town for about 1hr. every evening. I live a safe area so I leave my 12 year old securely at home or with neighbors. I just enjoy riding and looking around at different homes, yards, people, buildings. Get to know my surroundings
