beating my record
I have 41 days right now, and thanks to the antabuse, I know I will make it to at least 55 days. And that's if I was to stop taking it right now, which I am not going to do. This is longer than any time I can remember, and that includes the 6 weeks I spent sober after I got out of detox last May. I only wish I had started taking the antabuse back then, I would have been so far ahead in this sober journey. Oh well, I had a hard time getting a doctor to prescribe it for me, so I guess I should just go on from here and count my blessings. I plan on someday not having to take it any more, but for now, I know I still need the help, as I still haven't convinced myself I want to quit drinking FOREVER. Until I can come to grips with that, I need the crutch, and hopefully I can talk myself into it the more I get used to the changes in my life that being sober brings.
